Red Tulip Project would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the Madeleine Rose Foundation for their contributions to the Monarch Meadow House to create the Madeleine Rose Healing Heart Garden.
The Madeleine Rose Foundation was established in memory of Madeleine. While battling her addiction, Madeleine lived in recovery home for several months and had said it was one of the best things that ever happened for her. While Madeleine ultimately lost her battle in July of 2020 after COVID forced her recovery housing to close, her memory and smile live on through the supportive efforts of MRF.
MRF’s mission is to establish and support recovery housing efforts. Because of Madeleine’s positive experience with her own recovery housing, MRF is committed to providing opportunities to recover from alcohol and drug addiction by providing a safe, stable, sober environment to live and learn life skills in order to maintain 12-step based sobriety throughout their lives.
RTP is honored to help Madeleine’s memory thrive. This beautiful place on our house grounds is an idyllic spot for meditation and relaxation for our tenants during their recovery. Once finished, the garden will also be open to the recovery community (by appointment only) – including other recovery homes, treatment centers, and sponsors – to bring their tenants, clients, or sponsees to work on the 12-step program.
The first of three phases of the garden has been completed. Erin Cole, a Girl Scout working on her Gold Award, is in the planning phase of the next phase, which is to design a 12-step “pod” portion of the garden. Each pod is being personally designed by the pod sponsor, Ms Cole, and our friends at Lowe’s Greenhouse. In addition to being a place of focus and retreat for individuals, the garden will serve to attract pollinators to the meadow.
December 2024 – Update
The Red Tulip Project humbly thanks Constellation Energy Corporation for approving the Madeleine Rose Healing Heart Garden for a $500 Constellation Community Champions Grant! Thanks to their generosity and the support of many other individuals and companies, we’re continuing to move along towards completion.
